Judah's birthday

The bigger boys helping Judah open his gifts!
Judah and Jonathan riding the bikes and scooter.  They had a great time!
My masterpiece cake!  :-)  Blue cake with chocolate chips....Yummy!  And the following is a video clip at the party.  It is not the greatest clip, but I thought it was interesting to get the call to prayer in the background to give everyone a little feel of what it is like here.  After awhile you get used to that and forget that to people at home that would be strange.

Unbelievable

Mason is already 2 months old now.  Wow, where does the time go?
It is amazing....I am sitting here trying to get pictures uploaded and just looked at my watch and realized that the boys are asleep and haven't made a peep in their beds.  Usually bedtime around our house is a big ordeal.  Or at least when we try and make them sleep in their own beds.  Judah is usually really good about going to bed, but Caleb has been in and out of our bed most of his life.  Mostly in our bed too.  Since it has been cold here we have all been sleeping in our bed together, which was getting a little old.  So, we recently purchased some bunkbeds for them and they were so excited to sleep in them.  We got them Spiderman comforters and the works.  So they were really excited and now, they are fast asleep in their own beds.  Woohoo!!!!  Let's just hope they stay that way all night and that we don't have anyone falling out.  I will let you know....

The following are some fun, recent pics of the boys!

Learning a new language

I don't know how many of you have tried learning a new language, but it is at times definitely not a fun experience and one that brings up many insecurities.  Maybe it is partly my personality too, but I am always afraid of not saying things the right way and I get so shy around people that it is hard for me to actually talk.  Ugh....
Our second semester has just begun for school again and this time I am taking a part-time class with some other moms, in hopes that we will be able to get more done on our days off.  So far it is going well, and we all seem to click.  It is so funny though.... You should hear us in our reading class.  It is like going back to Kindergarten or first grade all over again.  I don't know how the teachers can sit there for a full hour and hear us all butcher their language.  It has to be a painful experience.  It is amazing though with just a little bit of time and effort put in, we have managed to make what used to just look like a bunch of scribbles a bit legible.  Although if you change the font, forget it.  I remember when I first learned to read english.  I would go along in the car and read every road sign, or anything with writing on it.  That's how it is all over again, although I feel a bit slower now, and most of what I read I still don't understand.  But, may God give us the grace to get this language down.
We can actually communicate quite a bit now, which is fun.
