SURPRISE!!!!

Isaac James Crane surprised us with his arrival on June 23rd. He spent the first day of his life as baby Crane because we had only come up with a name for a girl and were shocked with the news. We are thrilled that he is here though, and that he is a healthy beautiful baby boy. He weighed 6 lbs. 13 ounces and is 19 1/2 inches long. We went in to the hospital at 9 am and I was induced and he was born by 12:30 that day. He came quickly and everyone was surprised to see this little BOY come into the world.
What a blessing!!!

Last Moments

Although pregnancy pictures are usually not the most flattering pictures, I thought it would be worth it to document this moment in history. These last moments when we are still just a family of all boys, when there are only three little rug-rats running around the house, and we have no idea who this little person in my belly is. It is always such a strange feeling when once you have had a baby you can no longer imagine what life was like without this little one. So, I am taking a moment to stop and remember life in the Crane household without her, because hopefully in a few short days, or hours she will be here and time will have moved on. So, enjoy the belly shot and look forward to sweet little baby pics to come! :-)

The Due Date

I am SO glad to have my mom here to help us out. It has been such a blessing!!!!

Pilot Judah in a plane at the Children's Museum.

Yesterday, the 17th, was my actual due date.....but still no baby! We needed to get the kids out of the house, so we took them to the Children's Museum here in Amman. It is a great place for them to run around and play. Here are a couple pics of me and the boys...

Caleb Turns 5

Well, June 15th has come and gone and Caleb gets to keep his birthday to himself. His baby sister hasn't made her appearance yet. We had a wonderful day with lots of Caleb's friends and he has been enjoying all of his cool gifts. (although many of his good buddies were missing since they are home in the US for the summer) One of the best gifts is his new pet turtle "No-no" given to him by his buddies Levi and Koen.

A hot summer day with all the little boys running around with no shirts on. At one point in the party, one of the little girls came to me and seemed concerned that these boys were all running around with no shirts. Kids are so cute!
Good 'ol pin the tail on the donkey!

Nesting

I hear people always say that before having a baby that women begin to "nest"! I guess that is what has been going on around here. For some reason though when I try and post pictures on here, they never come in the order that I want them to and I have the hardest time figuring out how to get them in the right order. So, this is the picture of our guest room finished and ready for my mom to arrive. The before pic is at the end of these pics.
We bought a bookshelf from some friends that were returning to the US and have found a great place for it. Yesterday the boys and I took all their toys that were just heaped into a box and looked like a bunch of junk, and put them nice and neat on this shelf. It is amazing, because now they feel like they have a bunch of new toys and have been playing in there ever since.
We inherited this rocking chair from another family and I have never been too crazy about the pattern, so yesterday when I was cleaning up the guest room for my mom, I decided to make some covers and update it a bit. I think it looks much better, what do you think?
The finished product!

Catching Up

Wow, it is amazing how much time can go by that I don't update this poor blog. Sorry....I know that feeling when you are excited to see what someone is up to and you see the same picture that has been sitting there for over a month. Blah....

Anyway, I am back and am determined to update this thing more often.

So, here are some new pics and things that have been going on here.

Yesterday we walked downtown to the local market to buy some fruit. Here is a picture of the market and some of the amazing fruit that we were able to get. We were not able to get strawberries, cherries, peaches, or nectarines when we lived in India. So it has been about 5 years or so since we have eaten these fruits.
One thing I love about Jordan is that people love children! In the market yesterday the boys were given, bananas, nectarines, cherries and strawberries. They love it too and have gotten SO used to people paying attention to them wherever we go. I think someday when we are in the states they will go through withdrawal.
Summer fun! We had some friends over a week ago or so to swim in our little blow up pool outside. The kids had a blast!
Mason's first haircut! Although we didn't get a picture of during and after, here is the picture of Mason before he got his first haircut!
